Write At Home is a central Iowa service founded by Brenda Egger, a licensed and certified Occupational Therapist (OT) with over 14 years of experience.
The mission of Write At Home is to make handwriting tutoring logistically accessible by providing evidence-based handwriting tutoring sessions in the home or virtually.
Write At Home believes in the importance of handwriting because it is a foundational literacy skill that impacts reading, communication, and learning.
Write At Home is able to provide handwriting tutoring that aligns with the child’s current school curriculum, while embedding evidence-based strategies:
- explicit instruction
- multi-sensory instruction
- play-based instruction
- visual-motor skill development
- pencil grasp development
- sensory motor based strategies
